About the maker ~

Gabriele Sventoraityte is the maker and content creator behind Park Bench Ceramics - functional ceramic objects studio since 2024.
She is currently based in Lithuania, living and working in Vilnius, making pots from her studio in New Town.
For a while, Gabriele wanted to become a curator and get Masters in art criticism, so she studied Fine Arts and Curatorship at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, but after a year, she decided to leave. Turns out, she was just a shadow artist the whole time: deeply drawn to art, but too scared to actually make any herself - a year in a fully artistic exposure sometimes can break even the most scared creator.
After trying all kinds of mediums throughout her life, ceramics never took hold - until 2024 - and that was the year that Gabriele fell in love with the art of wheel thrown ceramics. She is now fully self-taught ceramic artist & learning her way through.

About the work ~

Her work explores the idea of creating mostly minimal wheel-thrown pieces with a quite limited colour palette. Warm, natural and earthy tones often takes place in her work as well as raw unfinished textures and glazed clay details.
All ceramic pieces are made with high-fire stoneware clay and food safe glazes. Microwaves and ovens should be avoided, but hot water from the kettle is totally fine to use.
